Profhilo®

Profhilo® is an effective and natural looking non-surgical facelift treatment, it is a new discovery in facial ageing addressing skin laxity, not just filling lines and wrinkles.

Made of 100% HA (Hyaluronic Acid), it nourishes dermal cells and restores firmness of the skin. This treatment not only boosts and hydrates the skin, but also remodels the ageing and sagging tissue.

Profhilo delivers great results as a treatment on its own or in combination with other aesthetics treatments currently on offer such as wrinkle reduction injections.

Profhilo® is an exclusive skin remodelling treatment designed for individuals with ageing skin that is lacking volume and elasticity. By stimulating the production of collagen and elastin through the slow release of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), Profhilo® significantly improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and helps to increase hydration and firmness across the face and neck.

What can Profhilo™ treatment help with?

  • Increase skin firmness and elasticity
  • Tighten and lift skin
  • Improve skin tone and texture
  • Rehydrated skin
  • Restore radiance
  • Used on the lower face and neck
  • Improvement seen around the eyes, cheeks, upper lip, jowls and neck.

How does Profhilo® work?

Profhilo® has been specially formulated to contain a unique level of Hyaluronic Acid (a naturally occurring substance found in our bodies that is responsible for maintaining moisture within our skin), which helps to encourage the production of collagen and elastin across the skin. Due to the way Profhilo® has been made, it acts as a hydrator rather than a filler, and is therefore fantastic for those with tired, dull and ageing skin as it provides overall more plump and luminous skin.

Why chose Profhilo®?

We start losing a significant amount of collagen, elastin and Hyaluronic Acid after we reach 30, which means we start to see the signs of ageing in the form of fine lines, wrinkles and slightly lack-lustre skin. At this age, we should start to consider preserving ourselves, therefore Profhilo® is advised for individuals from around the age of 30 upwards, who wish to target ageing skin.

Profhilo® is also an excellent choice for you if you don’t want to add volume to specific areas (if this is the case, it is more likely that dermal fillers would be the right treatment for you), as it instead provides volume and hydration across the skin, giving an overall rejuvenated appearance.
There is no age upper limit either. In fact, in older patients, we have often seen more dramatic results. However, if you’re over 60 your treatment does need to be managed carefully – for example, if there are deep folds present or the skin has lost elasticity, then combination treatments that include Profhilo® may be more suitable.

A consultation prior to treatment is very important to ensure that Sarah knows what results you are looking for.
If you’re after very subtle results, this treatment delivers. However, if you’re looking for a lifting of the face, neck or any other area, then a combination approach with dermal fillers and wrinkle reduction injections may be recommended.

How many treatments will I need?

The substance is injected just below the skin’s surface in two treatments, one month apart.  Occasionally a further treatment will be needed. Maintenance is one treatment every 4-6 months. The substance disperses quickly across the skin to instantly boost hydration, consequently smoothing fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in improved skin texture.

Are there any side effects to Profhilo®?

Immediately after treatment there may be some redness at the injection site, and you may experience some itching or tenderness in the treated area. This will generally disappear within 24-48 hours.

What is the difference between Profhilo® and Dermal Fillers?

Due to the way that Profhilo® is formulated, it is not a volumising treatment in the same way that dermal fillers are, nor is it used to enhance specific areas of the face (e.g. lips, cheeks, chin). Profhilo® is primarily a hydrating treatment, and the Hyaluronic Acid it contains is dispersed evenly throughout the face, giving your skin a plumper and firmer look overall.

What is your after-care advice?

You can have Profhilo® treatment and continue with your day to day activities. However, we do advise you avoid wearing make-up after your treatment.

We also recommend that you do not go to the gym, sauna, steam-room or go swimming on the same day as treatment. You should also avoid touching the injection site.
